NOTE:
This is a somewhat rare model; only 15,186 were made. It survived for only one-year - the prototype for the '57 Parklane never made it to production, and it was replaced by the 1957 Del Rio. As a 2-door hardtop wagon, it was a direct competitor to the Chevy Nomad (and it was successful sales-wise - in comparison, only 7,886 Nomads were sold). It started off as a Ranch Wagon, with the addition of the distinctive side trim and other pieces of the top-of-the-line Fairlane series (Sunliner, Crown Victoria, Club Sedan, and Town Sedan).

ANOTHER NOTE:
This page was written in 2002.......... In August of 2004 this car was taken to Don's Paint & Body in Eaton Colorado to have the body redone. There was several small dents in the body and 2 rust spots on the front fenders. This was the only rust on the car. The car was painted light rosewood metallic and pure white with pearl in the paint. It was clearcoated with four coats and handrubbed in between coats! I hope to have it finished in October of 2005. Cleck here to see the progress.

Lee used to have a car almost identical to this one in the early 70's and it was the same color. It was a Ranch Wagon, not as much chrome, but a "56" 2 dr. wagon. He drove the Ranch Wagon to California many times and had it for about six years. Ben learned to drive in the car & Lee has been looking for one to take it's place for many years.
