Tom was in second, third, fourth, and fifth grades from 1949 through 1955. Sheila is Tom' s younger sister & she tagged along since she was only pre-kindergarten. The teacher, Mrs Morris, told Tom's folk it was okay for Sheila to go. She too was there from 49-55 leaving in about the third grade. (This is Tom's best guess....)

I, Marian am Tom's wife, I went to Longmont High and met Tom after he graduated from Mead in 1961.

Tom and Sheila are both so excited. Their family, Norman, Irma, Virginia, Tom, and Shelia lived on the Big Elk Ranch from 1949 and went to Longmont/Mead area to farm in 1955. Virginia attended school in Allenspark as well then was advanced to Estes Park for high school. Virginia was killed in a car accident in 1966. Norman lived to be 91 and passed away five years ago and Irma passed away prior to that time.

Tom and Shelia have many many stories of Big Elk Ranch as well as going to school in Allenspark. Tom was the only boy in the school for a couple of years until Dale Fry and Bob Sutherland and Wanard Huff came to school there.

Tom is telling me some of his classmates were: Laverne Miller, Connie Miller, Shirley Miller, Colleen Rowe, Dale Fry, Bobby Sutherland, John Reinholt, Pat Reinholt, Virginia, Shelia, Tom Boll, Skip Riley, and Wanard Huff The teacher was Mrs Morris. Tom's first grade teacher was Mr Maganneson. Some of the students were part timers and not full time residents of Allenspark.

Tom loves to tell everyone that he was the smartest in his class, as well as the dumbest since he was the only one in his grade.

Irma Boll would drive the Boll kids as well as the Fry and Sutherland boys to school each day since there was no school bus back then.

When Tom was in either 3rd or 4th grade, the day of the Christmas pageant was the last day that the Boll's could leave the Big Elk Ranch as they were snowed in for 6 weeks.

Tom is going thru his photo albums and we hope to be able to send them on to you. If not, we will have them there during the reunion.
